Fabregas pays tribute to the scout who discovered his talent at Barcelona and convinced him to join Arsenal at 16

Francesc "Cesc" Fàbregas Soler is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Ligue 1 club Monaco.

He took to hi social media space to pay his tribute to one of Arsenal's long term international scout, Francis Cagigao.


The scout was responsible for Fabregas move to Arsenal at age 16 from Barcelona.

He wrote: "Thank you for the 24+ years of devotion, respect, loyalty and love you gave to @arsenal Nothing would have been the same for me if you didn’t spot me at 15 years old. I wish you all the very best for the future. Your next team will be very lucky to have your football brain 🙏🏻🤗❤️"

Fàbregas came through La Masia, Barcelona's youth academy, leaving at 16 when he was signed by Premier League club Arsenal in September 2003. 

He left Arsenal in 2011 to return back to join Barcelona. After three years with his boyhood can he made his second return to England, Chelsea.

Fabregas now plays in Ligue 1 for Monaco.

It's been gathered that Francis Cagigao is responsible for discovering likes of Robin Van Persie, Hector Bellerin and Gabriel Martinelli into the Arsenal team.
