Rennes added the goal, Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes) left footed shot from a difficult angle on the left to the bottom right corner after an assist by Faitout Maouassa.

A consolation came in the 90th minute for Montepllier, Gaetan Laborde (Montpellier) header from the centre of the box to the top right corne from a cross by Ambroise Oyongo.
