"You see the calm and personality they play with, they are good. We are here to try and win the Champions League."
Zinedine Zidane saw his defense commit another error from the same Varane who headed the ball back to his goalkeeper and Gabriel Jesus raced to the ball and chipped it over the on running Courtois.
The result saw Manchester City tske a goals lead on aggregate score following their 2-1 win in the first leg.
Guardiola will not face Lyon in the quarter final as the French side qualifed on 2-2 score line on aggregate depsite losing to Juventus at Allianz stadium but first leg 1-0 win back in France was enough for Javi Garcia side.
Guardiola added: "It is one step, if we think that is enough we will show how small we are. If you want to win you have to beat the big clubs.
"I just spoke with the scouting department [about Lyon] and they told me to be alert. We have eight days to prepare for it. We will enjoy it and then after we will think about Lyon."
