Manchester United are still in yhe rscecto lift the Europa League after they finished third and miss out in the FA Cup.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains optimistic that he's side can still lift a title, which is the Europa League.
The Red Devils defeated LASK Linz 2-1 at the Old Trafford on Thursday night. Goals from Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial gave Manchester United the win.
Recall that United had defeated the Austrian side 5-0 in the first leg. The victory saw Manchester United qualify for the quarter final.
It's been confirmed that United will not face Copenhagen in a one legged tie.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that Juan Mata and Eric Bailly who played the full 90 minutes against LASK are expected to face Copenhagen in the coming days.
Although, Sergio Romero was in goal for United as the Argentine usually play in cup games while David De Gea is in charge in the league.
Solskjaer has refused CTI confirm whether De Gea will be the goalkeeper from the quarter final or he sticks to Romero.
After Wednesday's game, Solskjaer said: “I’m not going to say Sergio is the Europa League keeper. It’s between him and David all the time. We’re going to pick a team that we think is going to win this tournament, so you'll just have to wait and see.”
He futher revealed that his captain Harry Maguire will retain his position in the defense.
According to Ole: “First of all, he’s desperate to play, he’s the captain. There’s a reason why he’s the captain: he always wants to play, but he’s always ready to play. He’s missed one game, two games this season maybe through some illness, and I think he just gets sharper and sharper the more he plays. He’ll get his time off after this tournament, so no worries about that.”
Meanwhile, it's sad for Manchester United because Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe have already been ruled out for the remainder of the current season.
Solskjaer confirmed that Phil Jones has trained with the squad as he's recovering from injury.
