Pochetino finally breaks silence why He was sacked as Tottenham manager

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino revealed that the Spurs hierarchy did not accept his managerial vision which led to his sacking.

The Argentinian was sacked as manager at White Hart Lane last November after five-and-a-half years in the role.

In an interview with El Pais, Pochettino said: ‘We live in a result-based industry where it seems that all the factors that maintain good results are the ones that work. 

‘But how do you measure what works or not? Is it just the team who wins or the one who exceeds expectations? 

‘After the Champions League final, four years in the top four, two years without signing, a different management strategy was needed. 

Tottenham lost in Champions League final to Liverpool in June 2019, Spurs began the 2019-20 Premier League campaign with a poor form and were 14th in the table when Pochettino was fired. 

Jose Mourinho was appointed and he guided Tottenham Hotspur to finish sixth place in the league standing.
