Mikel Arteta has remained active in the transfer market since the window opened. The Spainsh boss has been impressive since he replaced Unai Emery.
If you recall that Unai Emery was sacked last year two years after he was announced as long serving manager Arsene Wenger successor.
Mikel Arteta has already lifted the FA Cup trophy last season and the Community Shield this season under eight months of being in charge at the Emirates.
Apparently, Arteta had to choose his number one goal keeper between Bernd Leno and Emiliano Martinez.
Leno was injured in June following an injury against Brighton Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.
Martinez stepped up to mount the goal for the north London side, he went ahead to lift the FA Cup trophy with the Gunners with stunning performances against Manchester City in semi final and Chelsea in the final.
However, after he was unable to secure a first team shirt, Martinez moved to join Aston Villa.
He reportedly joined Villa for 20m pounds.
This has seen Arsenal move to sign another goalkeeper.
Arsenal are close to completing deal for Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson.
According to Goal, he's set to undergo a medical ahead of a £1.6 million move.
The 25-year-old joined Dijon from Danish side Nordsjaelland in 2018.
