Manchester United have only completed the signing of one player so far in this transfer window.

The Red Devils have been dealt a transfer blow after their long target Jadon Sancho decided to stay at Borussia Dortmund for another season despite Manchester United strongly linked to the English player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side have failed to meet the transfer fee for Sancho but it's expected that Manchester United still hope little hopes of getting the signature of the forward.

Apparently, Manchester United have signed Donny Van De Beek from Ajax for a fee of around 40m pounds. The 24 years old Dutch international signed a five years deal with the Old Trafford outfit.

The Ajax academy graduate becomes Manchester United first summer transfer, as the 2020-21 season set to kick off on September 12.

Meanwhile, Donny van de Beek has revealed that fellow countryman Steven Bergwijn tired to lure him to join Tottenham instead of Manchester United.

“Steven Bergwijn texted me to see whether I would play for Spurs,” he told Algemeen Dagblad. “But I chose United.

"I felt ready for the next step. This was the time to go. That is why I was on the phone with my agent last weekend. In the end, there was an agreement."

Donny Van de Beek also added that former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar played a key role in his decision to join the Red Devils.

Just so you know, Van Der Sar is currently the sporting director of Ajax after he retired from football.

Donny said: "We talked about football things, about the club and I always make decisions about my feelings and my feelings were directly good with everything. That was for me an important thing.”
