Arsenal hosted Aston Villa in a friendly game today at the Emirates stadium. The Gunners lost 3-2 to Dean Smith's side on Saturday.
Fans of the Gunners were surprised to see Mesut Özil don the number 10 jersey for the Arsenal.
The German international featured for Arsenal for the first time since the league was on break last season.
Ozil want named in Mikel Arteta side which played the remaining games when football restarted in June.
The former Real Madrid star has been sidelined by club but he's adamant that he'll see out his contract at the club.
He has turned down several offers from other sutors, recently from Qatar club, Al Sadd.
Coach Mikel Arteta might be looking at offering the play maker another chance in his squad ahead of the new season.
Arsenal will begin the new season on September 12 with an away trip against Fulham.
