Sheffield United have signed Chelsea's Ethan Ampadu on a season loan deal.
It's understood that the youngster can play in a number or defensive and midfield roles.
Wilder commented: "Ethan is an outstanding young player for Chelsea, and we've worked really hard to get his signature for the season.
"We need to thank Frank Lampard and the people at Chelsea for helping making this happen. We've got a good relationship with them and they know we're going to take good care of him.
"It's an important season for Ethan and playing in the Premier League for us is a good move for everyone. He brings a lot of qualities to the group and he's someone we've tracked for two or three seasons."
The Exeter born operator began his career at his hometown club and made his senior debut for the Grecians as a 15-year-old in an EFL Cup tie against Brentford in August 2016.
He made his Stamford Bridge debut a few months later he became Chelsea's youngest debutant in over a decade in 2017.
In 2018, he penned a new five-year deal with Chelsea but was sent out on-loan to RB Leipzig last season.
