Jurgen Klopp confirms Thiago Alcantara injury

Liverpool have begin their title defense with three wins on the bounce. The Reds have recorded victories against Leeds United, Chelsea and Arsenal.


Recall that Liverpool were crowned Champions of the Premier League season following Chelsea's 2-1 win against Manchester City two months ago. Jurgen Klopp side cruise with a 18 points gap between them and second placed Manchester City.


Although, Klopp has decided to add to attacking options bringing in Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton and Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich.

Liverpool defeated Arsenal 3-1 at the Anfield stadium with Mane canceling Lacazette opening goal from Andy Robertson error who later made amend to give Liverpool the lead.

Jota came off the bench to score the third on his debut.

Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson the captain missed the game as well as Alcantara.

The Spain midfielder wasn’t involved in the Reds’ Premier League clash with Arsenal on Monday evening. Klopp has stated that the former Barcelona star could miss his Liverpool's Carabao Cup game with Arsenal on Thursday and their league trip to Aston Villa on match day four.

“After the international break he will be fine, for sure,” Klopp told Sky Sports. “That is the situation at the moment. He is not fit enough to be involved tonight [against Arsenal] but that’s it.”
