Jurgen Klopp cruise to the title after they sealed a 18 points gap between them and second place Manchester City.

It was the first time in 30 years that the Reds lifted the title, which was a record breaking season for Jurgen Klopp side.

Meanwhile, their title defense also started on a winning note, with victories against Leeds United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Reds are yet to drop points this season so far after match day three.

Liverpool have only conceded four goals and have scored nine goals so far.

On monday night, 3-1 win against Arsenal saw the Reds further stake their claim as Champions.

It's been gathered that Liverpool will host Arsenal for the second time, but this time in the league cup.

Liverpool will face Arsenal at Anfield stadium on Thursday night in the knock out round of the Carabao Cup


Ahead of the clash, some notable players are set to miss the game. Liverpool assistant boss Pepijn Lijnders have stated that Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip and Kostas Tsimikas will the game.


Matip is struggling with a muscle problem while Tsimikas is still sidelined with a knock.


Also, Jordan Henderson who is skipper of the Reds is also injured, he missed Monday night game and will miss Thursday clash.

Speaking ahead of the match, Lijnders told the club's official website: 'Jordan, we will reevaluate on Friday after this game to see if he can be ready for Aston Villa.

'Joel is the same as what I said last week, he will be ready [after] the international break and use the time to prepare the Everton game.

'We have Kostas, who after the Lincoln game had a thigh problem. We thought it would settle, it didn't, so he will need more time. He will not be involved on Thursday and also not on Sunday.'

Yesterday, Thiago Alcantara will also be absent after testing positive for coronavirus. The Spanish international joined the Reds from Bayern Munich this summer window.

The Spaniard will also miss Sunday's trip to Aston Villa as he self-isolating at the moment.

Also, it's been confirmed that former Arsenal star, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is struggling with a knee injury.

'Ox is progressing well,' he added.

'He's in a good way and it's really important for him that this first phase goes smooth. But, of course, that takes a much longer time.'
