Manchester United Premier League 2020-21 season didn't start well as they were stunned 3-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Townsend and a brace from Wilfred Zaha ensured Crystal Palace took a comfortable three points from the game.

Manchester United barely stepped up all through the game, but a late consolation came when Donny Van De Beek came from the bench to score on his debut.

Van De Beek remains Manchester United only signing so far in the window as he joined for 40m pounds from Ajax.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has been urging for fans for patience will be hoping to put the loss behind him ahead of their third round Carabao Cup tie at Luton Town on Tuesday.

The Red Devils travel away to face Luton at 8:15pm kick off.

Recall that Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe were out at the weekend due to injury. It's been gathered that there were no fresh knocks sustained in the 3-1 loss to Palace.

Solskjaer reveals the would make some changes in his squad for the game as some players will be rested.

Speaking ahead of the game, Ole said on Monday at the Aon Training Complex:
“We’ll make some changes. Of course we will. For some, it’s the pre-season and, for some, they’ve only been here for a week now, for different reasons. Some of them need game-time, they do and we can see we’re lacking in sharpness. We just need to make the most of the training sessions and games we have.”

On any fitness concerns, Solskjaer said: ”No injuries, no fresh injuries after that game [on Saturday] but, as I said, we’ll rotate and give some minutes. Some, after the game, will do some harder training this week to get ready for Brighton. Some will join the squad and go down there.”

Manchester United will face Brighton Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium this weekend in their next Premier League game.
