Manchester United are struggling to sign players this summer window as the transfer market set to close by next week.

Although, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been linked with several players including their long time target Jadon Sancho.

Reports suggest that Manchester United are yet to meet the 100m pounds valuation of Jadon Sancho by Borussia Dortmund.

Donny Van De Beek is the only player that the Norwagian boss has signed this summer.

If you recall that Van de Beek, signed from Ajax earlier this month in a deal rising to £49 million (€54m/$63m).

The Dutch started his first game in the creative role for Manchester United in their 3-0 win against Brighton Hove Albion.

Red Devils face Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.

Goals from Scott McTomminay, Juan Mata and Paul Pogba ensured that Solskjaer men advance to the next round.

Meanwhile, Juan Mata who hasn't played a league game so far this season was handed a starting shirt.

He has praised Donny Van De Beek and a clever player. This came after the former Ajax man created the second with a delightful back-heeled pass Mata in the game last night.

"It was a very clever assist. He's a very clever player," Mata told Sky Sports. "I love playing with him because he finds pockets and spaces.

"He understands football in a way that I like, which is playing one-twos, passing and moving, and the goal was like that."

The goal took Mata goals tally for Manchester United to 13 since he joined from Chelsea.
