Manchester United were shocked after their star player missed from the spot kick on Saturday late kick off.
Manchester United had to come from behind to thrash resilient Newcastle.

Steve Bruce who is known for setting up his side in a compact way took the lead after two minutes through an own goal by Luke Shaw.

But United showed their qualities as they attacked the Magpies from every angle and finally got the reward. Harry Maguire headed the equaliser just before half time.

Manchester United were awarded a penalty in the game at the Saint James Park, with Bruno Fernandes missed from the spot kick.

The Portuguese international had his spot-kick saved in the 58th minute after Karl Darlow produced a fine save to the bottom left of goal.

Bruno Fernandes who was named Manchester United player of the season last campaign had previously converted all 10 of his spot-kicks in the Premier League.

Speaking after the match, Fernandes admitted he missed the penalty because he changed his spot-kick technique.

"I already change sometimes. Today it doesn't work," he told BBC's Match of the Day.

"I want to put the ball more in the corner but it was not good enough. Congratulations to him on being the first to save a penalty in the Premier League from me. That's 11 taken and one missed. Now people can say I can miss a penalty."

Although, Fernandes didn't let that get to him as he scored with a fine finish to put Manchester United in the lead after an hour mark.

Aaron Wan Bissaka and Marcus Rashford scored late goals as Manchester United finished 4-1 after 90 minutes.

Bruno Fernandes went ahead to reveal what he needs to do when next award a spot kick.

He said:"I need to do what is better for the game, today was not the right choice but it doesn't matter. I missed the penalty and I have to keep improving in the next games."
