Man Utd vs Chelsea: Eric Bailly and Lingard ruled out but Ole expects Maguire and Greenwood to be fit while Cavani set for his debut

Manchester United season seems to have taken a good turn, according to their manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
This came after United came from behind to thrash Newcastle 4-1 at the Saint James Park last weekend.

The Red Devils were ahead to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at the Parc Des Princes on Tuesday's UEFA Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to keep up with the form while they host Chelsea in a heavy weight Premier League clash this weekend. 

The game which is set for Saturday will kick off at 5:30 PM.

Ahead of the game, Anthony Martial who started during their mid week Champions League clash I'd currently suspended as he's serving his match ban following a straight red card received in 6-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur weeks ago.

What this means is that Edinson Cavani is expected to lead the line. 

Speaking about his team preparation ahead of the show down, Solskjaer he's players will be ready for the game following their trip to Paris in the mid week. 


Ole said: “No, there is nothing that we’ve struggled with after the game. Of course, there’s tiredness of the travel and little aches and pains but I think everyone should be ready for the weekend."

The Manchester United manager also spoke about the fitness of his captain Harry Maguire who missed the trip to Paris as well as Mason Greenwood who has been out of the team for a while. 

Solskjaer also hinted that Eric Bailly who is injured will miss the game against Chelsea along with Jesse Lingard. 

Solskjaer said: “We’re still hoping Mason and Harry can be available in the squad. Of course, we have a training session today [Friday], so they’re going to have to go through that. Eric won’t be available. Jesse won’t be available so we’ll manage without them for a few weeks I think.”

Meanwhile, Cavani who joined from Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent is set to make his debut, as the manager revealed the Uruguay international has been training since coming to the club as a free agent.

“He might be ready for the squad as well for this weekend. He’s been training hard and been training well.

“I think he’ll be available for the weekend.”
