Manchester United reportedly brought in some new players on transfer deadline day. It was gathered that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wasn't able to bring his long time target in Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.

Reports suggest that Borussia Dortmund had placed a transfer fee of 100m pounds on the youngster.

United signed Donny Van Beek from Ajax prior to the deadline day of the summer window.

Following Manchester United 6-1 thrashing in the hands of Tottenham last weekend, the Red Devils had to move to sign Alex Telles from Porto in the left back position.

Also, Manchester United moved for the signature of former Napoli forward, Edinson Cavani.

The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal on wages of around £210,000-per-week with Manchester United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side has struggled to convert their chances this season but it's believed that the experience of the Uruguayan could see those chances end up at the back of the net.

He joined on a free after he left Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Cavani has been handed the iconic jersey number 7.

The jersey number 7 was previously worn by Antiono Valencia.

The shirt number was famous after club legends such as Eric Cantona, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo all wore the jersey at different times at Old Trafford.
