Arsenal fans were thrown into emotional mode following the decision of one of their most experienced player.
Mesut Özil might not be playing for the team after been frozen out by Mikel Arteta but he seems to be showing off his generosity side of him.
It all started when the news filtered through that Arsenal mascot, Jerry Quy was sacked.
According to reports, the club took the decision in order to ease the financial burden following the coronavirus pandemic.
It's understood that Jerry became the famous dinosaur suit in 1993, three years before the arrival of legendary manager Arsene Wenger.
Since the fans aren't allowed into the stadium as games are been played behind closed doors and club decided to terminate Jerry Quy deal.
According to reports, Mesut Ozil has offered to pay Gunnersaurus's wages, stating that he will pay the wages as long as he remain a player of Arsenal.
Mesut Özil is currently on a 350,000 pounds weekly wages and has a year left on his current deal.
"I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous & loyal mascot Gunnersaurus and integral part of our club was being made redundant after 27 years," the Arsenal midfielder wrote on Twitter.
"As such, I’m offering to reimburse Arsenal with the full salary of our big green guy as long as I will be an Arsenal player."
