Mikel Arteta seems focus on this weekend clash. The north London boss will travel to Etihad Stadium to face his former boss Pep Guardiola. 


Recall that Mikel Arteta spent two years as an assistant to former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach at Manchester City. 

The game will go down in Saturday evening kick off, and Arsenal will be hoping to secure a positive result at the end of the game. 

The coach of the north London side has been speaking on his deadline day signing. Arsenal completed the transfer of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid on a long term deal. He joined for a fee of £45 million ($58m). 

The midfielder reportedly took part in training and the manager was impressed with his game and transition so far. 

According to Goal, Partey arrived at London Colney on Tuesday. 

Arteta believes the player he's adapting well to his new club. 


“He is getting familiar with everything around the club, today [Thursday] he will have his first session, so everything has to come really quickly for him,” said the Gunners boss. “He is fit, he is very willing to start playing, so we will how he goes in the next few days.”

On Partey's arrival, Arteta added: "I've seen the buzz around the place, I think the fans are really happy. I've seen some really positive reactions after we brought him here. It's been the same from the team, the squad and the staff. I think he's a player we've had the radar on for a long time and I think he is going to be a really important addition to the team."
