Bertrand Traore to miss Aston Villa trip to Arsenal due to groin injury

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has confirmed that Bertrand Traore will miss their Premier League trip to Arsenal. 

Dean Smith side will travel to the Emirates stadium on Sunday night. The game will kick off at 8:15pm.


Aston Villa have been in great form this campaign haven lost just once so far in the campaign. Their high point of their season so far has to be their big win against Premier League Champions, Liverpool. 

Aston Villa thrashed Jurgen Klopp side 7-2 at the Villa Park. If you recall that Dean Smith side were battling relegation last season and they had a late form of winning run to establish their Premier League survival. 

Ahead of the game against Mikel Arteta side, Dean Smith have stated that former Chelsea forward will not be available for the game.

The 25-year-old's player just 29 minutes of against Southampton last Sunday before he was forced off with injury.

This came after the forward who joined from Lyon this summer reportedly got injured in his groin area, and he was replaced by Egypt’s Mahmoud Trezeguet.

Although, Aston Villa lost 4-3 to Southampton at the end of the game. 

But the manager admitted that Traore who has played in five league matches this season will be back after the international break. 


“Bertrand [Traore] came off and he’ll be struggling for Sunday, he won’t make it,” Smith told the club website.

“He’ll definitely be back after the international break.”
