Manchester United out behind their disappointing mid week which saw the Red Devils lose 2-1 to Istanbul Basaksehir in the UEFA Champions League.

The Red Devils travelled to Goodison Park on Saturday early kick off to face high flying Everton.

If you recall that Arsenal came to the Old Trafford stadium last weekend to defeat Manchester United. It was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's second defeat at home this season.

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes inspired Manchester United win to ease pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whose managerial position has been under threat due to the club's recent poor form.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice to cancel Bernard opener for Everton before he went ahead to create the third goal which was scored by substitute Edinson Cavani.

But the moment of controversy came in the second half when the Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford attempted to win a loose ball following a free kick.

He later collided with Manchester United captain Harry Maguire in the box.

Although, the incident was cleared after a VAR check from referee Michael Oliver and play continued.

Speaking after the game, Harry Maguire feels that it was probably not a penalty and the VAR and referee got the decision correct.

“I just explained this in there, I personally don’t think it was [a penalty],” he told the club’s official website. “I think maybe I fouled Jordan first. I did put a hand into his chest when he went to catch the ball and I did feel contact on my knee.

“I felt like I probably pushed Jordan before and I know everyone’s probably trying to jump on him dropping the ball but I did feel like I pushed him. I’d say [a penalty] would have been a little bit soft.”
