.... I just pity Liverpool this season with the way their players are picking up injuries...

It appears Jurgen Klopp might need to find an alternative in defense once the international break is over. The Premier League Champions have been hit with serious injuries at the back line this season so far.

It all started from Virgil van Dijk who sustained an injury in the Meyerside derby last month which has ruled him out of the campaign.

Also, Fabinho, a midfielder who was drafted into that position has also picked up an hamstring injury.

Trent Alexander-Arnold sustained a calf problem during the Red's draw against Manchester City last weekend.

While during the mid week, it was confirmed that Joe Gomez reportedly suffered an injury while on international duty.

This made him pull out of the England's squad and has returned to Melwood for further assessment.

The 23-year-old had a surgery during the this week and Liverpool have reported that the operation was a success.

Although the club refuse to put a timescale on Gomez’s recovery.

Reports suggest that he is expected to miss a large portion of the 2020-21 campaign.

Apparently, Joe Gomez has stated that he would  come back “better and stronger than ever. ”

“The road to recovery has already begun,” he wrote on Twitter .“I’ve been here before, I know what it takes and I’ll be back better and stronger than ever.

“I’m obviously gutted, but this is part of God’s plan and I believe everything happens for a reason.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their well wishes and messages of support. I’m focused on my recovery and supporting my team mates in every way I can. See you soon.”
