Tottenham Hotspur have stood up to be counted amongst the Premier League contenders so far following their recent results.
The Spurs have grown in confidence since the appointment of Jose Mourinho as their manager in the second half of last season.
Tottenham have displayed some breadth taking performances against top sides such as a 6-1 thrashing of Manchester United at Old Trafford and last weekend's 2-0 loss win against Manchester City at home.
This means Jose Mourinho has beaten the two Manchester clubs in the first leg of he campaign.
The result has moved Tottenham to top of the league with 20 points.
One could also point at some significant signings made by Jose with includes arrive of Sergio Reguilón from Real Madrid. The Spanish full back has made the left back his home at the moment.
Also, Emily Hojbjerg joined from Southampton as he has added steal in the midfield zone for Spurs providing cover for the defenders.
Matt Doherty joined from Wolverhampton as he has fielded the right back position.
Also, Gareth Bale returned to the club he left years ago, he joined on season loan from Real Madrid.
It was reported that before Tottenham hosted Pep Guardiola Manchester City at the Spurs home ground in Saturday, José Mourinho told Sergio Reguilón that he would buy him a ham if he could stop Riyad Mahrez.
Reguilón made sure he neutralize all efforts from the Algerian who likes to cut in an take a shot at goal.
At the end of the game, Mahrez was unable to have a clear shot at goal and this prompted Jose to fulfill his promise to Sergio Reguilón.
Taking to his social media space, Jose Mourinho posted a snap of himself and the young defender as he revealed the ham cost him 500 pounds.
One can say it was worth it given the position that Tottenham find themselves in the league.
He captioned: "A promise is a promise. It costed me £500 but I keep my promises"
Tottenham return to face Ludogorets in the Europa League on Thursday before they travel to Stanford Bridge to face Chelsea in the London derby.
