Rafael sends message to Man Utd fans after his club, Istanbul Basaksehir defeated his former club

Istanbul Basaksehir fullback Rafael da Silva admits he found it strange facing former club Manchester United.

The Brazilian defender came back to haunt his former side on Wednesday night as Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir caused a shock in the Champions League.

United looked on course to book their place in the last-16 of the European club competition but now have plenty of work to do if they are to finish ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig in Group H.

Taking to social media after the match Rafael reflected on the win and insisted his side deserved to take all three points from the encounter.

"Well done guys," Rafael posted to social media. "Very good 3 pts we deserved that. Different felling (sic) to play against the team I love must (sic) in my life see you at old Trafford."
