Arsenal woes in the Premier League continues following another loss in the league. The Gunners traveled to the Goodison park and face Carlo Ancelotti side in the evening kick off.
Mikel Arteta have only picked up two wins in their last ten games with means the Gunners have been winless in eight games.
Ahead of the game, Arsenal were without Granit Xhaka and Gabriel Magalhães due to suspensions. Their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was missing due to a calf problem.
This prompted Mikel Arteta to start youngster Eddie Nketiah ahead of Lacazette in the attack.
The Gunners fell behind from an Everton goal, it was their former player, Alex Iwobi who got the assist. The Arsenal's academy graduate joined Everton in 2018 for a fee in the region of 30m pounds.
Although, he has been playing a different role under Carlo Ancelotti. He has been deployed to the wing back position due to injuries to full backs Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman.
A right cross met the head of Everton forward, Calvert-Lewin but it deflected into the net from the body of Rob Holding and it went into the net.
Arsenal fought back to get the equaliser when Maitland-Niles was fouled in the box and Nicolas Pepe stepped up to convert.
But Mikel Arteta side went behind and what happened to be the winner after Yerry Mina headed a corner from Gylfi Sigurdsson just before half time.
After the game, Alex Iwobi took to his Instagram page to express delight of seeing his former tea mates again. Although he was happy his Everton side got the three points as they hope for a top four finish.
