Arsenal will have to turn to the Premier League this weekend after another disappointing mid week game in the Carabao cup.
If you recall that the Gunners were dumped out of the cup due to 4-1 defeat in the hands of Manchester City at the Emirates stadium.

Mikel Arteta side were unable to pass the quarter final stage of the competition.

Arsenal will now host Chelsea at the Emirates stadium ahead of their second London derby this season. It's a boxing day fixture and the Gunners fans would be hoping they give a positive performance at the end of the 90 minutes.

The team news for the game has already been revealed and it looks like the manager might have two last minute decisions to take.

According to reports gathered, their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might face a late fitness test.

The Gabonese international sustained a slight calf strain in training last week which saw him miss the 2-1 loss to Everton last week as well as the cup game against Manchester City.

Also, 19 years old Gabriel Martinelli bruised his right shin during our match against Manchester City on Tuesday. It's been gathered that Gabriel is recovering well and might be available for the game.

It's also been confirmed that Granit Xhaka has completed his match suspension following his three games suspension against Burnley weeks ago.

While Thomas Partey remains the only absent player. The defensive midfielder sustained a thigh strain during Tottenham Hotspur (a) on December 6.

The medical team habe now confirmed that Thomas is currently unavailable for the game against Chelsea.

Arsenal are currently 15th in the league standing and are just four points above the relegation zone.
