The Reds were held to a score draw against Fulham at the Craven Cottage on Sunday evening. Reid had scored a thunderous strike and Scott Parker’s side looked like they were set to clinch the three points until they were awarded a late penalty.
It was Mohamed Salah who stepped up and scored to ensure that The Reds shared the points at the end 90 minutes.
At half time of the game which Fulham were still holding on to the 1-0 lead, it was reported that Matip wouldn't be able to come on the pitch for the second half.
Joel Matip has been playing as a defender since first Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk are on long time injury list.
But after the game, Jurgen Klopp says he is hopeful that the injury is a minor one.
“Joel Matip has a spasm in his back,” Klopp said at his post-game press conference . “We will see. In the moment, nothing else.
“He already got treatment, will get treatment and we will see.
But the former Borussia Dortmund boss remains hopeful that Matip will be fit for the Wednesday's clash with Tottenham at Anfield.
He said: “I think there’s a chance for Wednesday. [It’s not that bad] in the moment, no.”
