According to reports he has put pen to paper on a deal until 2025.
The 26-year-old has joined Villa from Hibernian in the summer of 2018.
McGinn has since made 83 appearances in all competitions and has also shone on the international stage, recently helping Scotland qualify for Euro 2020.
