Liverpool were held to a score draw at Anfield stadium on Sunday. The Reds were close to finish the year 2020 with 100 percent home wins.
But it looked like Sam Allardyce side had other plan to stop Jurgen Klopp side who posed a deadly attack.

West Bromwich Albion are fighting for survival given their position in the relegation zone in the Premier League standings.

It was Liverpool that took the lead against the Baggies, Joel Matip, created the assist for Sadio Mane in the 12th minute after he floated a pass which Semi Ajayi misjudged and Mane finished well.

Liverpool created opportunities but West Brom ensured the score line was held at 1-0 until the equaliser came with less than 20 minutes left to play.

Semi Ajayi header found the back of the net and Alisson Becker wasn't able to stop the ball from entering the net.

The result means Jurgen Klopp side could only manage a point against the Baggies, but they still remain on top of the Premier League table.

After the game, Jurgen Klopp has given the update of Joel Matip injury. The Cameroon international was forced off against West Bromwich Albion with a groin injury in the second half.

The manager has now confirmed that Matip will miss the trip to Newcastle on Wednesday along with Naby Keita.

Klopp told a post-game press conference as captured by Liverpool website: "Joel told me he felt something in his adductor and that’s obviously not too good.

“I am not sure how serious it is now, but it was serious enough that he had to leave the pitch. The rest of the information I will get tomorrow.”

Klopp also revealed that Keita who has been struggling with fitness problems will not be available for selection against Steve Bruce side.

Keita has only made 10 appearances so far this season.

Klopp said: “He felt a muscle again. I don’t know exactly how long [it will be], but he was not ready for today and not for Wednesday, I think. We will see.”

Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are the only two players who recently recovered from their injuries.

While likes of Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, James Milner, Thiago Alcantara, Kostas Tsimikas and Diogo Jota are long time absentees.
