Mikel Arteta Makes Three Changes Against Southampton As Nketiah Starts First Game With Lacazette On The Bench

Mikel Arteta will be hoping to put some smile on the 2,000 Arsenal fans at the stadium faces when they host Southampton on Wednesday evening.

The game is expected to kick off at 7pm GMT at the Emirates stadium.

If you recall that Arsenal suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Burnley after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored and own goal and Granit Xhaka was also sent off. 

The Swiss was involved in a violent misconduct and was shown the red card after a VAR review. 

This means he will start his three match suspension, and will miss trip to Everton and Manchester City in Carabao Cup as well. 

Also, Hector Bellerin isn't in the team after he's suspended for picking up his fifth yellow card last weekend, which has seen Maitland-Niles take the position. 

While the centre backs are unchanged as well as the left back.

In the midfield, Mohamed Elneny and Dani Ceballos are expected to take charge due to injury to Thomas Partey and Xhaka absence. 

Mikel Arteta has benched Willian who has been struggling to replicate the form he displayed while at Chelsea. 

Nicolas Pepe has completed his three match ban, he's expected to join Bukayo Saka and Aubameyang in front while Eddie Nketiah starts ahead of Lacazette.
