Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles finally return to training after recovery from Covid-19

Newcastle have welcomed club captain Jamaal Lascelles back to training. It's been gathered that the defender has finally recovered from long Covid.

If you recall that Lascelles was one of a number of players affected by Newcastle's recent squad outbreak. 

The outbreak resulted in their Premier League fixture against Aston Villa had to be postponed.

On Thursday, it was confirmed that the 27-year-old Lascelles has resumed light training.

The captain of the Magpies continues to build his fitness, and is still expected to miss crunch upcoming fixtures against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Although, his team mate, Saint Allan Maximin who also tested positive is yet to return to training.
