Ole Gunnar Solskjaer shocked fans when they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night. Manchester united need a draw in Germany when they face RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.
But United fell to a 3-1 loss which saw then lm crash to third place and will now play in the Europa League.
Just so you know, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Istanbul Basaksehir 5-1 to top the group and Red Bull Leipzig finished second place.
But manager Ole Gunnar has remain positive that his team can still salvage their season despite being eliminated from the Champions League.
According to him, United can still win the Premier League this season despite their poor start.
"At Manchester United, you should always aim to win trophies," Solskjaer said.
"Of course, with the last three seasons, as they have been, there's been two teams far ahead of the rest of the pack.
"I got belief during the season, or since the turn of the new year, that this team is improving and that we can put up a challenge."
This season has seen United loose to top sides which includes their 6-1 loss to Jose Mourinho's Tottenham side at Old Trafford, while Arsenal and Crystal Palace have also beaten United.
But this weekend, Manchester United will face their rival in Manchester City and a win can see Red Devils move two points behind leaders Tottenham.
Solskjaer believes there is still room for improvement with his side, he added: "Of course we need to improve on last season but I don't think any team will run away with it.
"I go into every single game wanting to win, so maybe that's the answer to your question. If you win every game you end up with a trophy."
In the Premier League, Manchester United have won their last four Premier League games as they have come from behind to record victories, with the latest coming from their 3-1 win against West Ham last week.
