Wolverhampton went ahead just before the half time as Podence's bright finish made it 2-1.
The loss Las left Arsenal in 14th position on the league standing.
Arsenal return to the Europa League this Thursday, and it's been gathered that Thomas Partey will not feature.
The manager revealed that Partey will miss the game after failing to quickly recover from an injury picked up before the international break.
If you recall that the midfielder picked up a minor thigh injury, where he featured since November 8, when he came off at half-time in the 3-0 defeat against Aston Villa.
The injury has seen him miss three weeks of action.
'He had an injury very early in the game [against Aston Villa], he wanted to continue the second half,' Arteta said, after Arsenal's 2-1 loss at home to Wolves on Sunday.
'We knew it was a significant injury. He's done very well and he's working very hard, he wants to be available.
'Hopefully we can get him back soon but it's an area we need to be careful and we need to be protective with the player.'
It's also been gathered that Partey will also miss the London derby against Tottenham this weekend.
Arsenal will face Rapid Vienna in the Europa League, although the Gunners have already sealed their qualifications for the next round.
Arteta added: 'I don't think he will be with us in the next few games.'
Ghanaian midfielder Partey joined the Gunners from Atletico Madrid for £45m on transfer window deadline day.
