Arsenal fans were relieved with the injury news of their 19 years old forward.
Recall that Gabriel Martinelli twisted his ankle during warm up in Arsenal's third round clash against Newcastle at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

He was eventually replaced by Reiss Nelson and goals from Emile Smith-Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang handed the victory for the Gunners.

Meanwhile the club have confirmed that the injury wasn't that serious. The report from Arsenal's official website read: “Gabi turned his right ankle during the warm-up against Newcastle United on Saturday and was subsequently taken out of the starting line-up."

It's been gathered that Martinelli is expected to recover in coming days and will join the rest of his team mates.

The statement added: “Gabi has progressed very well and we’re hoping that he will return to full training with the squad in the next few days.”

Gabriel Martinelli has been tipped as one of the bright talents at the Emirates stadium, he scored 10 goals in 30 games in all competitions for the Gunners last season.

Although, he's progress was disturbed after a knee injury sustained during training last year March.

Meanwhile former Arsenal Star, Kevin Campbell has stated that he's relieved that Martinelli latest injury isn't too serious.

But Campbell added that the Brazilian will soon return to he's form.

He told Football Insider: “I wasn’t quite sure what the issue was. He has been out for such a long time that when he picks up an injury in the warm up you fear the worst.

“Fingers crossed he is going to be back in training this week so it does not look to be that bad. It is great news for the football club, great news for him and a relief for him."

Arsenal will host Crystal Palace at the Emirates stadium on Thursday night at 9pm GMT.

Campbell added: “He put in so much work to get himself back fit, and he was so impressive against Chelsea, to get injured again would have been heartbreaking. I am really pleased for him.”
