Ligue 1: Ben Yedder scores twice as Monaco defeated Montpellier 3-2 (Highlights) 2020-2021

Monaco held on to clinch a  3-2 win against Montpellier at the Stade de la Mosson on Friday night. Ben Yedder scored twice for his side to close the gap on the league leaders to four points. 

Monaco took the lead after 24 minutes with Kevin Volland (Monaco) left footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal following a corner.

The away sdoe doubled the lead after 35 minutes, Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco) header from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Caio Henrique with a cross.

In the second half, Monaco got a chance to extend their lead from the third spot, Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco) converts the penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Montpellier pulled two gaoal back ilunder five minutes, Sepe Elye Wahi (Montpellier) right footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom right corner. Assisted by Gaetan Laborde.

Andy Delort (Montpellier) added the second with a right footed shot from very close range to the centre of the goal. Assisted by Florent Mollet.

But Monaco held on to remain in 4th position while Montpellier are in 8th position.
