Arsenal fans have continued to ask questions concerning the future of their talisman. The German international has been left of the Premier League and Europa League squad for the season.

It doesn't look like Mesut Ozil will remain at the club despite his intention to see out his remaining contract.

Mesut Ozil is currently Arsenal's highest paid player with a weekly wage of 350,000 pounds but he has a year left in his deal.

There reports that the former Real Madrid star is set to leave the Emirates this January window. According to Goal, Mesut Ozil has agreed personal terms with Turkish side, Fenerbahce.

Although, Arsenal hasn't come out to confirm the transfer speculation, but the manager Mikel Arteta has stated that the players future isn't certain at the club.

While speaking to the media ahead of this weekend FA Cup clash against Newcastle, Mikel Arteta revealed that Ozil is free to negotiate with any club.

On Mesut Ozil's future, Arteta said: "I don't know what is going to happen. Obviously now he's free to negotiate with other clubs. We will discuss internally what the best situation for him is for the near future, obviously with the player and the agent too, and try to find the best solution for everyone."

Arsenal lifted the FA Cup last season, which is Mikel Arteta first trophy with the club in his first season. But Mesut Ozil didn't play a play in the game, he has been left out of the team since football returned after Covid-19 break.

But the manager revealed that the former Real Madrid star has been training with the team despite not being selected for match day games.

On whether Ozil has been training, Arteta said: "He has been training with us, but he had some days because we decided to give him some days for something personal, but he has been training with us all the time."
