Mikel Arteta Confirm Arsenal Will Soon Announce Omar Rekik Signing

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the £540,000 signing of Hertha Berlin defender Omar Rekik will be announced 'very soon'. 

The centre back took part in training with Arsenal's U23 side on Wednesday.  

Arsenal had reached a deal with Hertha Berlin to sign Rekik for £900,000 on the final day of the summer transfer window. However, the switch was not signed off in time forcing, both clubs to hold off until January.

Speaking of the transfer, Arteta told a press conference on Thursday: ‘We will announce it when we possibly can.

‘He’s a young talent that we’ve been following for a while that we believe has a really bright future. But we will give more details when we can. 

‘Yes [the news will be soon]. [Today?] I don’t know. Very soon.’
