City go top of the table after a 2-0 win over Villa. The hosts couldn't break Villa down in the first half but started the second brightly with Cancelo hitting the bar. Villa were solid at the back for most of the game until Mings was dispossessed by Rodri who set up Silva for the opening goal which led to Smith being sent off for his complaints. Gundogan then wrapped up the points from the spot after Cash's handball.
Guardiola's side and their attention turns to their FA Cup tie against Cheltenham Town. Villa have suffered back-to-back defeats, but Smith will be hoping they can bounce back against Newcastle at the weekend.
