Thomas Tuchel says He wanted to sign Kante for PSG

There is a new manager at the Stanford Bridge. The Blues have already appointed Thomas Tuchel as the boss as he replaced Frank Lampard who was sacked few days ago.

A lot is expected from Tuchel following his record at the various clubs he has managed in the past. The German was sacked at manager of Paris Saint-Germain despite guiding the Parc des Princes outfit to clinch back to back Ligue 1 title and other domestic cups.

If you recall that Paris Saint-Germain also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time but they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich after Kingsley Coman scored the only goal.

Tuchel resumed training on Tuesday after he was unveiled and was in action on Wednesday night against Wolverhampton. 

It was a goalless draw against Nuno Espirito Santo side but fans are optimistic due to their club display against Wolves. 

After the game, Tuchel has revealed he use to be a long time fan of Chelsea's N'Golo Kante. 

Although Kante is injured due to hamstring but Tuchel admitted he wanted to sign him for PSG back then. 

He also revealed that trio of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Antonio Rudiger were players he knew previously in Germany. 

"The funny thing is when you join a team in the middle of the season, I already know the likes of Kai [Havertz], Timo [Werner], Toni [Rudiger]. I wanted many years to have N’Golo Kante in my team and now I have him here, also Olivier Giroud, we have a clear picture," Tuchel said.

Tuchel also hailed the experienced Cesar Azpilicueta who played 90 minutes, he expected to be a key player in the squad under Tuchel. 

He added: "I have been following the Premier League for many years both in Dortmund and in Paris so I have a clear picture of what the guys are capable of. To find a guy like [Cesar] Azpilicueta in your office is simply amazing because in the end I am also a fan off football."

Another player that Tuchel spoke avout was Christian Pulisic, who came off the bench in the closing stage of the game. 

Tuchel admit that the American can bring some attacking quality to his side. 

"In Christian for sure I know very well what he is capable of," Tuchel said. "He had a big, big input, it was an unfair decision for him today to not start. I told him it was only because I know what he can bring from the bench.

"I am not sure sure what the others can do but I know you [Pulisic] can bring things for us and absolutely change it for us."
