Aston Villa has done a double against Arsenal this season. The first leg ended in a 3-0 win for Villa last year.

On Saturday, Arsenal traveled to Villa Park to face Aston Villa and Ollie Watkins made the difference after he scored in the opening two minutes. 

The striker benefited from some defensive errors from the Gunners and Bertrand Traore cut back a pass to Watkins who shot found the back of the net.

Arsenal were only able to test Martinez with Granit Xhaka free kick in the first half when the Switzerland curled from 29 yards but Martinez was called into action. 

In the second half, the Gunners weren't able to create a goal scoring opportunity all thanks to the solid Aston Villa defense. 

It was another clean sheet for Emiliano Martinez. The former Arsenal goalkeeper has kept 11 clean sheets so far this season. 

Recall that Martinez joined Aston Villa for 20m pounds in the summer after to refused to play number two goalkeeper at Arsenal.

He played in Arsenal's FA Cup triumph as well as Community Shield after number one goalkeeper Bernd Leno was injured. 

Meanwhile, the victory for Dean Smith side has moved them two places ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League table.
