AC Milan booked their place in the last 16 of the Europa League by beating Red Star, but they had to rely on away goals in order to progress.

The sides drew 1-1 at San Siro today with Franck Kessie's penalty cancelled out by El Fardou Ben for Red Star, who finished with 10 men after Marko Gobeljic was sent off for a second bookable offence. The Rossoneri narrowly advance and ensure their name is in the hat for the last-16 draw.

Milan next game is against Roma in the Serie A this weekend, As for Red Star, they resume their quest for a 31st Serbian Super Liga crown at home to Proleter Novi Sad.
