Barcelona fans sing praises as their talisman has achieved another greatness in his career.

Lionel Messi has been dominating the world of football in the past ten years. It doesn't look like age is catching up with the Argentine international at the moment.

Recall that early in the season, he made his intention to leave the Camp Nou but later had a change of mind as the club wouldn't sanction his move. 

Lionel Messi is currently in his final contract with Barcelona and will become a free agent in the summer of 2021.

Meanwhile, it's been gathered that Lionel Messi, 33, has been named the best player of the decade by IFFHS.

Following the list of 10 players shortlisted by IFFHS, the Barcelona captain is ahead of his long time rival, Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal who is second position. 

Andres Iniesta who previously played for Barcelona and Spain until he moved to China is ranked number 3, Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain and Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid completed the top 5.

Just so you know, the shortlist was drawn from players who played the game of football from 2011-2020.

While Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich /Germany), Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich / Poland), Gianluigic Buffon (Juventus / Italy), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan / Sweden) and Luka Modric (Real Madrid / Croatia)
