It was a game full of chances and controversies, with two missed Brighton penalties, as Gross and Welbeck struck the woodwork. There was a big VAR decision in the first half to deny Brighton an equaliser and then numerous opportunities for Seagulls to equalise, but they just couldn’t get the ball into the back of the net.
This victory sees West Brom close the gap slightly on Newcastle United in 17th, but they are still eight points adrift and they face Everton next time out. Meanwhile Brighton are now winless in their last four Premier League games and they face Leicester City next weekend.
