The Gunners had led when Aubameyang with a simple chip but allowed Benfica back in the game after Dani Ceballos had caused two errors which led to goals.

Meanwhile, Arsenal produced some late come back as Kieran Tierney lashed hole a left footed shot from inside the box off a pass from Willian six minutes later.

Arsenal needed an outright win after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico.

Bukayo Saka got his second assist when he floated a cross from the left and was met with a timely header from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his second goal.

After the game, Dani Ceballos has apologized to the fans for his error with a post on his Twitter Timeline.
