"Wanted a clean sheet badly" - Mat Ryan Reacts To Debut For Arsenal After Loss To Aston Villa

Mat Ryan made his debut for his boyhood club, Arsenal today but he was on the losing end as Aston Villa defeated the Gunners.

Recall that Ryan joined Arsenal on loan from Brighton Hove Albion, he came on after Bernd Leno missed the game due to suspension from a red card received in the loss to Wolves on Tuesday. 

But the Australian goalie wasn't happy he wasn't able to keep a clean sheet as Ollie Watkins 1 minute goal separated the two sides.

He tweeted: "Wanted it so badly to be the perfect start with a win and clean sheet, gutted it didn’t eventuate. Proud moment today, but already focused on our next objective(s). Thank you all for the wishes for my debut and the warm welcome. @Arsenal"
