Daniel James secured a vital victory for Wales by scoring a winner just nine minutes from time to kick-start their World Cup qualifying campaign.
Wales' task did however get easier after the break when Patrik Schick lost his head and lashed out at Conor Roberts. The referee spotted it and showed no hesitation in producing the red card.
The hosts had a numerical advantage for almost 30 minutes but could not make it count, and in the 77th minute it was gone. Roberts this time the perpetrator as picked up his second yellow card of the match.
The match appeared to slipping out of Wales' grasp until Manchester United winner James headed in Gareth Bale's cross with aplomb to snatch a late winner.
