AFCON Qualifiers: Paul Onuachu breaks Squirrel 8 years unbeaten home record as Nigeria defeated Benin 1-0

Nigeria snatched a late victory against Benin Republic in Porto Novo on Saturday in the AFCON Qualifiers.

The Super Eagles had already qualified for the 2022 AFCON tournament which is expected to go down in Cameroon. 

This came after Sierra Leone played a goalless draw against Lesotho in the early group L clash. 

For Gernot Rohr men, the game looked heading for a goalless draw until substitute Paul Onuachu headed the winner in 90th minutes. 

The result has moved Nigeria to 11 points, as they will now play Lesotho in their final game in Lagos on Tuesday.
