Gündogan wins Premier League award for the 2nd consecutive month

The Premier League player of the month of February has been announced and it appears that Manchester City star has picked up the award once again.
Ilkay Gundogan has been having a great season so far under Pep Guardiola as it looks like the German international best spell since he arrived England from Dortmund years ago.

Gündogan has been a driving force in absence of Kevin De Bruyne dur to injury as well as their striker Sergio Aguero.

Just so you know, Gündogan scored five times in the month of January which saw him pick up the prize.

Meanwhile, he has scored a four league goals in February and was voted the best player for the second month in a row.

Incase you didn't know, Guardiola's side have won all five of their fixtures in February as they currently lead the table with 14 points gap.

Gundogan had to face competition from likes of Fulham defender Joachim Andersen, Leicester winger Harvey Barnes, City team-mate Joao Cancelo, Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, West Ham's Jesse Lingard, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves and Leeds forward Raphinha to claim the award.

The season didn't begin on a good note for Gundogan who tested positive for Covid-19 in the beginning of the season but found a way to comeback strong.
After he received the award, he appreciated the fans and his team mates with the post below:
