Manchester United recorded a 2-0 win over their rival Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.

Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw ensured that the Red Devils cut down the gap between themselves and leaders City to 11 points.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford hobbled off the pitch after tracking back to prevent a City counter-attack and will be sent for a scan on a potential ankle injury.

Meanwhile Rashford was replaced by Mason Greenwood in the 73rd minute.

After the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated that Rashford will need to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

Asked about the severity of Rashford's injury, the Red Devils boss said: "I don't know. It's something with his ankle.

"When he sprinted 70 yards to save a goal, it showed the attitude of the boy.

"I think he went over on his ankle but we need to do a scan, I've not had time to speak to the doctor yet."

Rashford picked up the assist for Luke Shaw's 50th-minute goal, which doubled the lead Bruno Fernandes gave United from the penalty spot in the opening stages.
