The left back who made his name when he played for Marseille in 2005 was celebrated by his former club.
Taiye played for Nigerian club, Lobi Stars, before he moved to France by joining Marseille, where he had a successful spell at the club, winning Ligue 1, Coupe de la Ligue and Trophée des Champions.
Marseille shared a clip of the left footer scoring one of his trade mark free kicks.

Taiye played in U20 FIFA World cup where Nigeria lost 2-1 to Argentina in the final. Following the tournament, he was named the third best player in the tournament behind John Obi Mikel and Lionel Messi.
While playing for Super Eagles of Nigeria, he played from 2004–2012, with 54 caps and scoring 8 times.
