Virgil van Dijk seen running in training for the first time since last year October after horrific injury

Liverpool fans were thrown into frenzy mode after their star player was seen running around in the training ground.

Earlier today, Virgil Van Dijk was seen jogging across the turf at Liverpool's new AXA training complex. The Dutch international looked comfortable as he continues to build his fitness.

If you recall that van Dijk has been sidelined since last year October following a horror injury he suffered to his anterior cruciate ligaments from a challenge by Jordan Pickford during the Merseyside Derby.

Although the Jordan Pickford wasn't shown any booking as the linesman had raised his flag for offside. The game ended in a score draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

It's understood that the Dutch international might not play any game in the remaining five games left for Liverpool this season.

But Van Dijk looks poised to be available for the Euros 2020 which will kick off in coming month.

Liverpool have missed the presence of Van Dijk who guided them to lift their first Premier League title last season.

Unfortunately for Jurgen Klopp side, they haven't been able to defend their title which looks like it will eventually be lifted by Manchester City.

Liverpool are currently in sixth position and it appears that Jurgen Klopp will be focused on finishing in the top four to secure Champions League qualification for next season.
